Nicole Shorrock, MD, IFMCP

Dr. Nicole Shorrock started her professional journey at UCLA where she received her BS in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.  She graduated with honors from University of California Davis Medical School before specializing in Pediatrics at The Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado.  After her pediatric residency, she returned home to El Dorado County to practice general pediatrics and begin her real training as a mother to her 4 children.

With a decade of practice under her belt, she became progressively dissatisfied with her conventional medicine training and pharmaceutical heavy care plans.  As a person who always asks the question "Why", she realized her medical career training did not prepare her with these answers,  focusing on suppressing symptoms of the illness instead of addressing the root causes of the illness.  When her husband was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she dived into functional medicine training in search of understanding his illness and cure.  When she discovered a new understanding of the integrative nature of the body and illness and witnessed the powerful healing it offered, she knew she had to change her practice.  Over the past 10 years, she has focused on holistic healing of chronic diseases and has a special interest in recovering patients from autoimmunity and neurologic conditions.  She  appreciates the complexity of the human body and the multi-layers of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual pieces to recovery and vitality.

Dr. Shorrock works to optimize our bodies resilience to illness and supports the bodies return to vitality with a holistic approach through whole food nutrition, lifestyle, environmental medicine and microbiome support.  Dr Shorrock specializes in all chronic immune, gut and neurologic conditions, including autism, mold toxin illness and lyme disease. She believes the body has an innate ability to heal itself and her approach is to use natural medicines (homeopathy, herbs, nutrition, micronutrients) to support the body in recovery. She was the 3rd pediatrician in the country to become certified in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine and now enjoys caring for both children and adults using her functional medicine training.

Dr. Shorrock has also studied Autonomic Response testing with Dr. Klinghardt, Anthroprosophical homeopathy, and has dived deep into Methylation Genetics.  Dr. Shorrock has studied Frequency specific microcurrent, as a modality for healing tissues in the body and after years of using this with her own family, and she now supports patients with chronic pain/neurologic conditions with this tool. She recognizes the importance of holistic approach to care, synergizing emotional, mental, physical and spiritual needs.

Dr. Shorrock is passionate about synergizing emotional, mental, physical and spiritual needs to facilitate healing.  She feels blessed to have the ability to support others in their journey to optimal vitality and peace.
